Marcel Štefančič, jr. (1960) began his journalistic career at Tribuna and continued it at
The youth, while the wider audience knows him primarily as the long-time host of the show Studio City.
In addition to writing articles, which he still regularly publishes in Mladina, he also edits the monthly magazine Global and
RTV Slovenia hosts the weekly debate show Marcel. Štefančič has written more than a hundred
books. His works, especially biographies and books on film, are appreciated for their thoroughness, breadth
knowledge and a specific, insightful writing style. Štefančič has been nominated five times and
twice recipient of the Rožanč Award. As a film critic and publicist, he made a significant contribution to
development of film culture and critical thinking in Slovenia. He is known for his sharp and
provocative comments.
